Description

Coarsely ground red pepper originated in Central and South America. Today, many cultivars and varieties of chili peppers are grown globally. Coarsely ground red pepper has an earthy, mildly spicy heat and sharp flavor that adds background warmth without overwhelming other ingredients. It's great for rubbing generously on meats before grilling or sprinkling liberally on pizza, pasta, salads, and roasted vegetables to give a touch of heat. The coarse texture provides an interesting crunch and bite. Red pepper flakes pair particularly well with Italian and Mediterranean flavors, but also work nicely to add a little kick of spice and vibrance to traditional Georgian stews, roasted meats and vegetable sides when used in moderation.
